Volunteers

WTC values the participation of volunteers throughout the entire organization and encourages membership at all levels. If you are interested in being a volunteer at WTC, as a teacher, supervisor, committee or board member, please call our office at (510) 524-4822 to learn more about available opportunities.

Faculty Board of DirectorsCommittees

Faculty

Faculty, consisting of supervisors and teachers, serve on a volunteer basis.

Qualifications: Application Process: Expectations and Responsibilities
  • Professional background in psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy and an appropriate valid license
  • Interest, commitment and experience in relational psychotherapy
  • Cultural competence and belief in principles of social justice
  • A minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience post-licensure
  • A minimum of 200 hours of supervisory experience
  • 2 letters of recommendation from colleagues familiar with applicant’s work
  • Submission of vitae to Clinical Director (by fax or mail)
  • Preliminary conversation with Clinical Director
  • Interview with 3 faculty members
  • Approval by Clinical Director and faculty/or designated committee
  • One weekly supervisory hour in own office
  • Current, up-to-date, malpractice coverage
  • Attendance at full-day Fall Retreat and half-day Spring Retreat
  • Attendance at a designated clinical meeting for student evaluations
  • Attendance at monthly clinical meetings is strongly encouraged, but is not required
  • Familiarity with clinic policies and procedures
Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is comprised of volunteers who provide capable leadership, governance and vision for WTC. Members represent a wide range of skills, including business, finance, program, clinical, fund raising, marketing and planning. Attendance is required at monthly Board meetings and participation on a committee is also required. The time commitment is 8 to 10 hours per month.

Serving on the Board of Directors is a vital way to be involved at WTC and presents exciting challenges in terms of policy development, program planning, fund raising strategies and fiscal oversight. For more information, contact the Executive Director at (510) 524-4822.

Committees

There are a variety of standing committees with representation from students, faculty, staff and board members. Participation on one of these committees is an invaluable way to be involved at WTC. All committees welcome volunteer participation and include: Outreach and Marketing, Educational Series, Diversity, and Membership.
