Women's Clinic

Psychotherapy for women of all ages, ethnicities and sexual orientations.

Women will receive support and assistance with:

  • Relationship and family problems
  • Self-acceptance
  • Feelings of depression and anxiety
  • Discovering choices that make life more meaningful
  • Mid-life concerns
  • Work and school issues
  • Concerns about gender, sexuality and body image
  • Recovery from abuse and trauma
  • Issues of aging

    Adolescent Girls' Program

    Therapy for adolescent girls, ages 14 and older. Our program may be especially beneficial for those teenagers in supportive environments who are struggling with developmental challenges.

    Adolescent girls may receive therapy for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Struggling with self-esteem
  • Improving family and peer relationships
  • Coping with societal pressures of being a teenager
  • Grappling with aspects of identity formation, such as body image, culture, gender and sexuality
  • Healing from the psychological impact of trauma
  • Problems with conflict and emotional expression
  • Establishing a unique voice in a changing world

    Couples' Clinic

    Counseling for couples of all kinds: heterosexual, lesbian, gay or bisexual; same or cross-cultrual; married or living together; separating or divorced; friends or relatives.

    Couples can receive support and assistance with:

  • Bridging Differences
  • Communication skills
  • Rebuilding intimacy, trust and fun
  • Sexuality
  • Recovery from trauma
  • Parenting and step-parenting
  • Separation and divorce
  • Gender dynamics
  • Financial stress
  • Therapists   Our therapists are advanced or post-graduate students working toward licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Social Worker or Psychologist. They are supervised by an outstanding faculty of senior clinicians.
    Appointments To request a counseling appointment, or for more information, call our Counseling Request Line at 510-524-8288. A therapist will respond within 24 hours to your call for information and/or an appointment. Appointments are available every weekday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    Fees

    Fees are on a sliding scale, based on income, allowing for flexibility and affordability. Clients may submit for reimbursements from some insurance plans. We regret we cannot take Medi-Cal.

    Location WTC is conveniently located in El Cerrito, California on the corner of Central Avenue and Kearney Street, just one block east of San Pablo Avenue. We are very near the El Cerrito Plaza BART Station, close to AC transit bus stops, and just a few minutes by car off the Central Avenue exit of Interstate 80. See a MAP
