WTC CULTIVATING COMMUNITY (WTC3) : 2/15/07 - 4:30pm - 6pm: Suicide and How It Effects Those Left Behind, presented by Katie Keech, MFT Intern. Is all grief the same? While grieving processes may be similar between clients, grief from losing a loved one to suicide often has it's own unique set of issues that may not be present with other types of loss. This presentation will go over the specifc issues that survivors of suicide struggle with as well as ways in which clinicians can support those who have experienced this kind of loss. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ABOUT CULTIVATING COMMUNITY: WTC is creating a new program called, "WTC Cultivating Community,” which strives to increase community and interaction among WTC Alums and Members. Toward this end, we are planning an informal late Friday afternoon series in which members can present on a topic that would be of interest to the WTC Community. There will be time for networking and socializing before a brief 20-30 minute presentation followed by a group discussion. We envision the series happening 6 or 7 times per year with a fee of $5 for members and $10 for non-members to cover costs. We would love your help in planning topics that would interest you and also invite you to consider making your own presentation. If you have questions or suggestions for future topics, please contact Elena Moser at 510-845-3007.
